About the Center

Support for translation and Arabization at King Abdulaziz University began early in the university's history. Such efforts go back as far as the year 1980, when the College of Engineering initiated the Arabization of Engineering Sciences project to support the translation and publication of works in subjects taught by the college.
 
At that time, the college received support from the university administration and the Ministry of Higher Education, with the number of projects undertaken by the college reaching fifty-five.
 
With the establishment of the Deanship of Scientific Research at the university in 2006, an entire track was devoted to supporting research in the field of translation, and the deanship began to supervise translation projects presented by faculty members at the university. It also supported researchers' submission of their work for peer review, and referred completed works to the University’s Scientific Publishing Center for editing and printing.
